Data Center Certification

The Data Center Certification (DC) provides a system for the evaluation of the design, construction and operation of the DC structure related to the following issues:

  • Choice of location;
  • Security design;
  • Technical requirements;
  • Structural requirements;
  • Organisational requirements;
  • Event management;
  • DC documentation;
  • Information security;
  • Legislative compliance;
  • Energy efficiency.

The Data Center Certification (DC) has the following categorization based on national and international standards and requirements:

  • Simple physical security - power outages of hours and days can be tolerated;
  • High level data centre with inspection windows;
  • High level data center with 24/7 operation;
  • 3+: World-class data center at the highest German level without compromising requirements.

The certification is divided into two stages:

Stage 1 - verification of the DC design.

Normally it is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the DC but a third party verification allows the control of the correctness of the operations and safety processes required of the DC before its actual construction.

Stage 2 - verification of the operation/sustainability of the DC.

To verify the safety design, operating manual, accident and emergency management, access procedures, installation of new systems.

With the certification issued by a Certification Body, the company will be able to provide low-energy performance with minimum hardware.
